What a disappointing year. No, let's not pull any punches. To quote Logan Roy, 2021 can go "f*$k off"! With lockdown after lockdown in 2020, we had high hopes of a better 2021. It wasn't. It was worse, both at a global and at a personal level.
There was little adventure this year. An early bike packing weekend was a false dawn even if it was a cracking weekend (and I should have read the room that was 2021 when the plans for that weekend were turned on its head...). One highlight was the arrival of Sam, otherwise know as BC or Silly Salmon, who brought some much needed distraction for the family.
Otherwise, I've managed less kilometres on the bike for a decade and barely squeaked in a 100km+ ride all year. It's been short, sharp and local or bust!
Here's a baker's dozen of my favourite photos from the year that remind me there was goodness in a generally gloomy time!
